Hi, I am an LCSW and practice in the state of Connecticut. I have my MSW from U-Conn School of Social Work and have been practicing for over 30 years. Throughout the years, I have primarily worked with teenagers and their families in a psychiatric hospital based clinical day school. That includes direct experience with Special Education services, PPT meetings, IEP's (Individual Education Plans) and behavioral challenges within the school setting.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I will welcome you and review with you the basic intake and questionnaire information you supplied so that we can use our time efficiently. You will be encouraged to share information about yourself that helps us identify your goals and our plan for our work ahead. My goal is building a genuine nonjudgemental working relationship with you that will ultimately leave you feeling successful.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a social worker, I treat everyone with respectful positive regard. I try to look at and point out the many perspectives of any given situation. Helping a person develop effective and realistic coping strategies is always beneficial to include a support system as needed. Furthermore, I see through trauma informed glasses with a focus on the here and now as well as reframing the past as deemed helpful. Identifying unhealthy patterns of behavior and adopting more healthful behavior is a goal that can be reached. Problem solving strategies can be very helpful in our work together with positive results.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is one of the most effective type of treatment for various personal issues such as feelings of low self-esteem, anxiety, depression and relationship dilemma's.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is very effective in encouraging a positive perspective, developing coping strategies and reaching consistent emotional regulation.

Trauma Informed Care

A Trauma informed approach is a therapeutic mindset of considering how experienced trauma impacts us in the here and now.
