Hello, I'm a LIcensed Clinical Social Worker, based in New Jersey. I received my MSW from Rutgers University in 2001. I worked for Rutgers University for many years, as an administrator and in clinical research as a therapist. I work with both individuals and couples. The theraputic process is grounded in our relationship. I work collaboratively with all of my clients. We will do an initial assessment, discuss goals and then work toward them. Taking the first step into therapy is often the most challenging. Once you've gotten past that we will work on building a relationship and helping you move towards your goals.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we get to know each other and determine whether working together feels like a good fit. We will discuss what is bringing you into therapy as well as begin the collaborative assessment process. This will help us determine what goals you want to address and which ones have the highest prioity.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I value the connection and collaboration that we will create in our therapeutic realtionship. You are the expert on you. I am here to listen to what is coming up for you, and together we will discuss how you want to move forward. There are lot of ways to facilitate change. We will find the way that feels the best to you and move in that direction.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I've been trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques. I find that often it is most effective to draw from them and use aspects of them as needed in order for treatment to be the best fit for each individual.

Supportive

So much of what people struggle with in life is a result of not having enough support. Often once supportive counseling is available it is easier to approach and deal with concerns as they arise.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems is a powerful modality fwhere we will examin your internal landscape and explore the different parts that make up who you are. As you begin to identify your parts and the roles they play, you will establish a clearer picture of your motivations and challenges in navigating the world.

Couples Counseling

The majority of couples struggle at some point in their relationships. Communication is critical in making relationships work. If you are feel like you and your partner are not connecting, couples counseling could help you get back on track.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is very effective when working with behavioral issues. It allows us to look at your cognitive patterns and work with them to help you address behaviors you want to change.
