Hi! I'm Laurie. Congratulations on taking the first step in your healing journey! I understand that sometimes we just need to reboot, start over and try again. I bring a lifetime worth of experience as well as formal education, graduating from Alliance Graduate School of counseling and being a Licensed Professional Counselor. You are important! Together we will create a caring and safe healing experience. We will focus on helping you find your voice, understand your strengths and build on your goals and vision. We will focus on overcoming obstacles, challenge unhealthy narratives and empower you to create a healthy realistic narrative of yourself. Are you tired of feeling stuck in an old unhelpful narrative? Is it time to make that change and write a new story? I am here, pen in hand ready to help you move forward in your healing journey.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Our first encounter will feature an opportunity to get to know each other. You and I will have an interactive conversation about why you are seeking support and what you hope gain from therapy. Understanding where you are will help me to develop a plan of action to meet your needs.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Counseling and working with people were lifelong goals of mine. I understand the idea of reboot and change as I obtained my license as a second career. I believe in positive change and second chances to re-write your narrative. Professionally, I have focused on secondary training to enhance my skills in working with trauma and finding "life after trauma." Together, let's find your strength narrative and focus on your healing vision.

Integrative
I use an integrative approach to meet your needs. Each person is dynamic, and it is important to meet your needs each time we connect. By using different approaches, we will be able to meet your goals and learn new skills in your recovery journey.
Narrative
Everyone has a story to tell. It is important to "find your voice." Narrative therapy has been shown to be very helpful in trauma recovery work. It is a gentle, respectful modality that puts you in charge of your story. It can be helpful in understanding your core values and vision for yourself.
