Hello! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and retired Navy Chief Petty Officer. I have a master's degree in counseling and psychology and over 14 years of experience as a therapist. I am currently located in Pensacola, Florida. My passion is providing individual counseling services to adults and teens. I specialize in helping people through many of life's emotional challenges, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and existential issues. I use various treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR).

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we’ll start with brief introductions, then dive into specific challenges you’re facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I like to help people address negative core self-beliefs, improve relationships with others, resolve life-purpose issues, and heal from generational family dysfunction. I have a long track record of helping people from all walks of life recover from trauma, solve current life challenges, and build a strong foundation for success. I specialize in various individual therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR).

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based and widely used form of psychotherapy that’s helped many people around the world. Therapists use cognitive behavioral therapy to help people with mental and physical health challenges, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and chronic pain. The goal of CBT is to help you adapt and change your mindset and behaviors by reassessing distorted thought patterns.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is one of the world's most widely used therapeutic treatments. Unlike traditional forms of therapy that take time to analyze problems, pathology, and past life events, SFBT concentrates on finding solutions in the present and exploring one’s hope for the future to find a quick and pragmatic resolution to one’s problems. This method takes the approach that you know what you need to do to improve your life and, with the appropriate coaching and questioning, can find the best solutions.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that is designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. This technique engages areas of the brain to balance logic and emotion with the target of resolving negative core self-beliefs.
