Hi all!! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and working towards becoming certified in Perinatal Mental Health as well as certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I have been working with individuals and families since 2009 in a variety of settings.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, you can expect for us to discuss the challenges that have brought you to seek counseling (and lots of praise for doing so!). This will allow me to gather information and help us come up with goals and a plan to tackle them together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I have found through client response and feedback, that my approach of balancing processing and skill building allows my clients what they need to learn in and grow.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Throughout this time, I have found a passion of working with new mothers struggling with mental health or just navigating their new life, along with helping people heal from past traumas. I also enjoy helping those through any and all transitions in life. I believe that people can “grow through what they go through.” I embrace a collaborative, strength-based approach to helping clients navigate their challenges, lean in to them and grow in the process.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I have had 2.5 years of training and experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and am approaching my certification. I find that this approach is helpful for a broad range of concerns, whether that is anxiety, depression, relational conflicts, and suicidality.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been the backbone of my work! When we lean into how we think about situations, we can greatly shift how we feel and respond to situations! We also learn to speak much nicer to ourselves...who wouldn't want that?
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
I have been utilizing Cognitive Processing Therapy after much training several years ago. I have seen this modality allow someone to break free from symptoms related to a variety of traumas including traumatic pregnancy loss and relational violence. With this approach, clients will gain a great understanding of what is happening to their minds and body's and work towards reworking the thoughts around the traumas to heal, grow and feel empowered.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Mindfulness is a nice part of the work we can do together. It allows one to break free from the endless thoughts and experience their moment in the hear and now, without judgement!
