Hello, I am an LCSW and have been in practice for 30+ years. I have worked in multiple settings and have learned that no one goes through life without challenges. Sometimes those challenges become overwhelming, and we find ourselves full of anger, fear, anxiety, confusion or deep sadness. You are not alone in this. If you are seeking therapy for the first time or have been in therapy before, please know that this is a safe place for you. All of us want to find a place of peace and joy in our life, but sometimes it feels like we are lost in a forest. I want to help you find your way out of that, to recognize your own path. I have a strong belief that we are in a constant state of change and adaptation in life and the secret is to realize and own our personal power. Peace is accomplished through balance, boundaries and new beginnings; those three work together and empower you. I look forward to helping you begin this next step of your journey and to find your power in that.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session we are going to get to know each other. We will begin to talk about what you are seeking in therapy, what your goals are and what you want from me. I am not the expert on you, you are. I want to learn who you are, where you've been and where you want to go. Sessions are 55 minutes.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

One of my greatest strengths is experience, both as a therapist and in life. Nothing replaces learned experience, as we all have that. I have a strong passion for what I chose for my career. I am a patient and kind person who wants for other's to heal. I know that is a road with many twists and turns and it is important to have someone walk it with you who is not unfamiliar with that.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In short, who we are and how we respond originates in our thoughts, which are directly impacted by our experiences. In CBT we learn how to impact those thoughts so that they can work for us instead of against us; how to change/shift those thoughts by reframing them. I have worked with clients in multiple settings using this method from family therapy with juvenile offenders, domestic violence and individuals living with trauma and individuals seeking to create a new version of themselves they feel empowered by.
