I would first like to express how glad I am that you’ve joined me here and how eager I am to collaborate with you on exploring and meeting your needs! I have always had a heart for others and a desire to journey with them as they reach their fullest potentials. I have worked in a variety of agency and private practice settings with all sorts of persons and needs, but it has always been my deepest hope to provide therapy from the perspective of high positive regard, safety, understanding and support. This Private Practice, Speak Life, exists to be a setting that reestablishes grace and hope, and aids you in renewing your mind. Speak Life Therapy was established in November of 2020 by its founder, Diondra Perry. Speak Life stems from the Proverb, "Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose;" and aims to equip you with both Faith Based and/or practical skills that help you walk out a fulfilled life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, you'll be greeted with warmth and curiosity! I'll be eager to get to know you by way of an Informed Consent, Initial Assessment and Treatment Plan. During this conversation, feel free to teach me about your history and the goals we'll be focused on. I will also share details about myself that are pertinent to our working together such as my background, experiences and approaches. We will end our session with scheduling your next session and possibly adding some homework - or tools you can practice between sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a Clinician is my balance of compassion and accountability. I am naturally curious and seek to understand others with depth and clarity. It is my personal belief that we often times experience meaningful transformation when we are seen and accepted. Additionally, I believe that we make progress when we are equipped with tools, opportunities to use those tools and to explore our experience and benefit of the tool. This development is sought after through homework such as Journaling Prompts, Mindfulness, Boundary Setting, Game Play and more.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I best positioned to serve those who are curious about who they are and want to make sense out of their life experiences or process challenging events such as trauma. Additionally, those who experience symptoms that are consistent with Borderline Personality, other Mood Disorders, Self-Harm, Spiritual Abuse and Suicidal Ideation, will he heard and equipped with tools that assist with them forming meaningful life connections that are not consistently disrupted by dysregulation and ongoing harm. Lastly, as a Black Woman, my passion is to provide a safe space for other Black people and People of Color as they navigate a society that often times disregards their experiences and needs.
