Hello, I'm Anthony DiMaggio, a dedicated licensed marriage and family therapist based in Los Angeles. With over a decade of expertise in mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy, I specialize in supporting individuals struggling with anxiety, stress, and chronic pain. My therapeutic approach, tailored to the unique needs of each client, aims to create a nurturing space for personal growth. I find joy in helping clients overcome challenges, build resilience, and discover a sense of peace and purpose in their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I will get to know what brings the client to therapy and the challenges they are facing. I will also understand if they have particular goals for therapy to help guide future sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths are on being open and non-judgmental. I also excel at identifying thoughts and beliefs that may be keeping my clients stuck in old patterns in their lives. I have experience personally working with chronic pain and also with substance abuse which often helps me work with clients going through similar experiences.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In my therapy practice, I employ Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as a transformative approach to help individuals embrace psychological flexibility and lead more meaningful lives. Through ACT, we explore acceptance of difficult thoughts and emotions, fostering a non-judgmental awareness of the present moment. ACT serves as a guiding framework for building a rich and purposeful life, emphasizing the importance of embracing discomfort while pursuing personal growth and fulfillment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as an evidence-based and goal-oriented approach to address a variety of psychological challenges. CBT emphasizes the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, allowing clients to identify and reframe negative thought patterns. CBT is a collaborative and empowering process, equipping individuals with the tools needed to overcome obstacles, build resilience, and achieve lasting improvements in their mental well-being.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I integrate Mindfulness-Based Therapy to guide individuals towards a more balanced and present-centered way of living. By developing a mindful approach to thoughts and emotions, clients learn to respond to life's challenges with greater clarity and resilience.
