I'm Rhonda Richardson, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and improve their mental well-being. I take a holistic and person-centered approach to care, recognizing that each individual’s journey is unique. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to take an active role in their treatment. I specialize in treating a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, OCD, and mood disorders. My approach often combines evidence-based medication management with integrative therapies, mindfulness techniques, and lifestyle recommendations such as improving sleep, nutrition, and stress management. I believe in working collaboratively with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their goals and values. Whether you’re struggling with overwhelming emotions, past trauma, or feeling stuck, I’m here to support you with compassion, expertise, and care tailored to your individual needs.
In the first session, clients can expect a brief introduction followed by a discussion about their current challenges and previous psychiatric history. The goal is to gain a comprehensive understanding of their needs. By the end of the session, a diagnosis will be formulated, and a treatment plan will be developed collaboratively, ensuring the client's comfort and involvement in the process.
As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, what sets my approach apart is the deep emphasis I place on active listening and creating a non-judgmental, supportive space. I believe that truly hearing and understanding a person’s story is the foundation of effective care. My goal is to ensure every client feels safe, seen, and validated throughout their journey. I take a collaborative approach to treatment, working closely with each individual to develop a personalized plan that reflects their goals, values, and preferences. I believe that clients are the experts in their own lives, and involving them in the decision-making process helps foster empowerment and long-term engagement in their mental wellness. At the heart of my work is a commitment to building trusting, respectful relationships. By combining clinical expertise with compassion and partnership, I strive to support meaningful progress and lasting change.
I am in the best position to serve adolescents aged 15 and up, as well as adults across the lifespan who are facing mental health challenges. This includes individuals who may have previously sought therapy or been prescribed psychiatric medications but have not yet found the desired level of assistance. I am experienced in working with this specific population and am dedicated to providing the support and guidance they need to improve their mental well-being.
As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I have extensive experience utilizing supportive therapy in my practice. While I specialize in diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders and managing medication, I also recognize the importance of providing a supportive therapeutic approach to my patients. In my practice, I prioritize active listening and creating a safe and empathetic space for my patients to share their concerns, emotions, and experiences. By actively listening, I can gain a deeper understanding of their unique needs and develop a personalized treatment plan that addresses their holistic well-being. Through supportive therapy, I aim to provide emotional support, validation, and guidance to my patients. I believe that the therapeutic relationship plays a crucial role in promoting healing and recovery. By fostering a trusting and non-judgmental environment, I encourage my patients to explore their thoughts and emotions, empowering them to actively participate in their own treatment journey. In addition to medication management, I integrate supportive therapy to address the psychological, emotional, and social aspects of mental health. This comprehensive approach helps individuals develop coping strategies, enhance resilience, and improve their overall well-being. Overall, my experience with supportive therapy has shown me the positive impact it can have on patients' lives. By combining my specialization in psychiatric disorders and medication management with a supportive therapeutic approach, I strive to provide comprehensive care that addresses the diverse needs of my patients and promotes their overall mental health and recovery.

Referred by my primary care provider, Lisa Magary, for a consult to discuss possible ADHD medication. Dr. Richardson was very thorough and helpful. We covered a lot of area and she asked a lot of different questions. I feel confident in her ability to help me.

I appreciate that Dr. Richardson was open to what I had to say and genuinely concerned. She listened and empathized. She also did not push me to take any medications, she talked me through it and went over the pros and cons. I appreciated that. Thank you
