My name is Elizabeth and I am passionate about helping my clients reconnect with what matters in their life. It is my goal to help you build a new inner flexibility to get unstuck from limiting self beliefs. I have a decade of experience in both community mental health settings as well as private practice. I like to approach therapy with an eclectic approach, blending different theories and techniques.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
During our first session, we will prioritize building our new therapeutic relationship by discussing the therapy process as well as begin to discuss what is bringing you to therapy. In order to get to know you, I will also ask some history to build a picture of you and your story. We will also discuss your therapy goals and the steps we will take to get there.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Acceptance and commitment therapy with a focus on building self compassion, embodied in a centered approach creates a space where you feel seen, heard, supported and challenged.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I’m a warm and supportive therapist who creates a safe space for you to explore what’s going on in your life. At the same time, I’ll gently challenge you when it’s helpful so you can grow in meaningful ways. I also provide practical homework between sessions to help you apply what we discuss and keep your progress moving forward.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I love being able to utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to assist my clients in getting "unstuck" and build more inner flexibility with their thoughts and emotions. This is a type of therapy I have been utilizing for 4 years.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I believe my client is the expert of their own story.
