LMFT, 9 years of experience
Hi there! I’m Ashley — a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and Texas with nine years of experience helping people find healing and balance. I work with individuals and families who are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, family conflict, trauma, and life changes. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, respected, and truly understood. Together, we’ll explore your story, identify what’s holding you back, and build tools to help you move forward with confidence and self-compassion. Reaching out for therapy takes real courage, and I want you to know that you don’t have to go through this alone. I’m here to support and empower you as you create the life you want to live.
Our first session is all about getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. We’ll spend time exploring your goals, what’s been feeling challenging, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll also share a bit about how I approach therapy so you can get a sense of what it’s like to work with me. This is a safe, judgment-free space where you can show up exactly as you are. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out — we’ll move at your pace and focus on building a comfortable, trusting connection. By the end of our session, my goal is for you to feel heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and accepted. I bring a calm, compassionate presence that helps people open up and feel safe exploring even the most difficult emotions or experiences. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each individual — I draw from evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and trauma-informed care, depending on your unique needs and goals. Clients often share that they appreciate my balance of empathy and practical guidance. I don’t just listen — I help you gain insight, develop new coping tools, and take meaningful steps toward healing and personal growth.
My ideal clients are individuals who are ready to make positive changes in their lives, even if they’re not yet sure where to start. Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, past trauma, relationship or family challenges, or simply feeling stuck and wanting to reconnect with themselves. You may be someone who’s done your best to “hold it all together” for everyone else but is now realizing it’s time to focus on your own healing and growth. You’re looking for a space where you can feel supported, understood, and encouraged to move forward at your own pace. I’m especially passionate about helping clients build self-awareness, strengthen emotional resilience, and create healthier patterns in their relationships — both with others and with themselves. Together, we’ll work toward helping you feel more grounded, confident, and empowered in your life.
I frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Over the past nine years, I’ve integrated CBT techniques to support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and relationship challenges. In our work together, I’ll help you identify unhelpful thought patterns that may be keeping you stuck and replace them with more balanced, realistic perspectives. We’ll also focus on developing practical coping skills you can use in daily life to manage stress, improve mood, and create lasting change. My approach to CBT is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. I combine structure and skill-building with empathy and self-compassion, ensuring that therapy feels both effective and personally meaningful.
