I am licensed in Florida with over 20 years of experience as a relationship expert, counselor, and professional life coach. I have lots of experience helping adults (aged 21 and over) with stress, overwhelm and anxiety, increasing motivation, improving self-esteem, confidence, positive thinking, career challenges, life transitions, low moods & depression. I believe in treating everyone with compassion and in a non-judgemental space. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be a light and easy going conversation to get to know each other and see if we are a good fit for each other. My goal is to take you from a bad place to a better place - whatever that better place is for you. I will tailor our conversation to help you develop a set of goals and action steps that you can use to make changes in your life as soon as possible.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Since I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused therapy and in Life coaching - I use a very unique approach to solving problems that combines a mix of all these techniques. My greatest strength is to take your big overwhelming issues and break them down to help you find bite-sized solutions you can take action on, one small step at a time.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use a very unique approach to solving problems that combine a mix of many different techniques. My greatest strength is to take your big overwhelming issues and break them down to help you find bite-sized solutions you can take action on, one small step at a time. I'm all about focusing on what's working and how to make things better. We chat about your strengths and what you're good at, instead of just talking about problems. We'll brainstorm together to find doable solutions and times when things weren't so bad. I might ask you to imagine your perfect day or what life would be like if the problem disappeared (kind of like a daydream!). We'll talk about small steps you can take to make things better, and I'll cheer you on every step of the way. It's all about finding what works for you and making positive changes happen.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I guide individuals in identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to distress. Through psychoeducation, we explore the interconnectedness of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Using techniques like cognitive restructuring, we replace irrational thoughts with more balanced perspectives. Behavioral activation encourages engagement in enjoyable activities to improve mood. Exposure therapy helps confront feared situations gradually, reducing avoidance. Homework assignments reinforce learning between sessions. Progress is monitored, and interventions are adjusted as needed. Relapse prevention strategies are developed to maintain progress. Therapy is tailored to individual needs and goals.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

In Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I emphasize acceptance of difficult thoughts and emotions, fostering psychological flexibility. We focus on clarifying personal values and committed actions aligned with those values, promoting meaningful living. Through mindfulness practices, individuals learn to observe thoughts without attachment and engage fully in the present moment. Cognitive defusion techniques help create distance from unhelpful thoughts, reducing their impact. We identify values-driven goals and develop strategies to overcome barriers. Experiential exercises and metaphors facilitate insight and behavior change.

Compassion Focused

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBT) is all about paying attention to what's happening right now without judging it. We do simple exercises like breathing and focusing on the body to help stay present. It's like training your brain to be more aware and calm. We talk about how thoughts and feelings affect how we feel, and practice not reacting to them right away. By practicing mindfulness regularly, people feel more in control and less stressed. It's like giving your mind a workout to make it stronger and more balanced, helping you feel better in your everyday life.
