I have been supporting individuals just like you for over 12 years. I am committed to helping people learn how to live their BEST LIVES! My practice focuses on targeting ANYTHING that stands in your way of functioning as your BEST self. I believe in taking a holistic and collaborative approach. This means we work together, as a team to improve your whole life-not just your mental or emotional health. I am a seeker, so I am ALWAYS looking for new ways through research, evidence-based practices, and new educational opportunities to be of service to those looking for support. The face of someone who looks for support... looks like mine. Sometimes it's struggling with anxiety or depression. Or maybe diabetes and the toll the management of the disease takes on your life. It could also look like a teen looking for direction at school or navigating the world into young adulthood. Or a couple on the brink of calling it quits because of financial stress. It could look like someone who has lost their job or home and turned to Alcohol or something else to ease the pain. Or someone who just can't shake things they may or may not label as TRAUMA in their lives. More important than any of these situations, is the question: HOW DO WE REGAIN CONTROL OVER OUR HAPPINESS AND OUR LIVES? This is precisely what our goal is- find a plan to answer this question. There are multiple ways we can go about finding this answer, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EFT (TAPPING) EMDR, Mindfulness-based modalities, Motivational Interviewing and, more. If you are interested in discovering which method will be effective for us to use, please schedule an appointment and we will get started laying the path together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will get to know each other a bit. There will be something called a bio-psycho-social assessment process. This will take about an hour. There are several questionnaires that will be used to capture what symptoms are most bothersome to you and then a subsequent plan will be developed to address and support you with this plan. We work together to decide when, how and where you would benefit most from support.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I think the face of someone who is reaching out for support looks just like mine. I share in the struggles of the 21st century and will support anyone with their journey. Its my job to come along side of you and walk the path together. I don't want you to feel stuck anymore. Empowerment, education and awareness are important. I can be your cheerleader, while assertively pushing you along so you don't fall off the path! It all depends on where you are and where you want to go.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Meeting you where you are at is important. Then working together to see what we can actually do. This is where the rubber meets the road. What is your commitment level to move towards your goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Ah, the age old-Beliefs, thinking and feelings. IE, The conditioning we have from the years we have been on this earth. If we are not careful, we will turn into what we have been through. Sometimes, that happens. Not to worry, there are ways to lessen the impact of painful and outdated beliefs so you can live life with less suffering.

EMDR

Please investigate tapping as a means of bilateral stimulation prior to exploring EMDR treatment with me. This is a sensitive treatment intervention. It takes time, effort and energy. Can be used for trauma. Can also be used in a lighter way, for anxiety.
