Hi there, I am Christine. I have been honored to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds struggling with challenging issues for many years. I base my understanding of how people function and how they heal in human physiology and Christian practices. People experience adverse events differently, impacting them emotionally, physically, and spiritually. These experiences are often not understood verbally by the person, that is why it is important for me to help individuals understand the many levels to healing. Change from a Christian perspective is very practical and personal, while taking into account what might remain unknown on the nonverbal level. In therapy, I utilize a Christian perspective, where the whole person, mind, body, soul, and spirit are valued and addressed according to a biblical interpretation. The mind, body, and spirit are all connected, and the spiritual component is essential to complete wholeness and restoration. I believe the Bible is the infallible and inspired word of God and is relevant to all areas of life. I believe it is vital to utilize evidence based therapeutic approaches while incorporating scripture as we take a closer look at all areas of your life. The integration of Christian teaching in therapy with individuals who desire this type of intervention helps them gain a sense of hope for life in Jesus Christ. In my therapeutic approach, I value the positive benefits of faith-based interventions enabling individuals to connect their mental health treatment with their faith creating a more holistic approach to treatment and personal growth. I am here to help; you do not have to figure this out alone.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Collaboratively, we will address the challenges creating barriers and negative patterns preventing you from experiencing peace, joy, and well-being. You will begin to feel whole and discover more fully what it feels like to live a life of meaning and purpose. Learning is wonderful, but change is not always immediate. I will listen and be skillful, providing you with tools and practices that bring relief. Truthfulness and authenticity are my primary responsibilities, I will approach our work together with truth that is kind and compassionate while collaborating with you on what is helpful in therapy and what is not beneficial making necessary changes along the way to provide you with the best care possible.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Therapy is something you engage in when you need help and are having difficulties. Therapy will help you look at how you are currently coping and adapting to your current experiences and what is not working. Overtime, you will be able to identify how you would like to experience things differently. You have adapted and coped to the best of your abilities and now in therapy with cognitive-behavioral therapy, family systems, and Christian counseling, I help individuals evaluate how past relationship patterns, developmental history, and current and past stressors influence one's state of being. Therapy is an effective way get another perspective on emotional or psychological areas of growth. I encourage clients to use curiosity, non-judgementalism, and courage to explore positive change.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I specialize in offering relief from depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self-harm, and grief. Therapy is an effective way get another perspective on emotional or psychological growth areas. I encourage clients to use curiosity, non-judgementalism, and courage to examine their experience in their family of origin, developmental history, personal narratives, early attachment, and relationships to connect present maladaptive coping mechanisms and stress with dysfunctional attachments and impasses in development. Therapy is a safe space where I support individuals to express themselves, exploring their strengths, areas of vulnerability while creating and implementing a plan for change and growth.
