I have been a therapist for over 15 years, and I find the most affective treatment is collaborative and tailored to fit each person’s goals and needs. Whether you are coming to therapy to find new coping strategies, change unhelpful patterns, or process traumatic and painful life events, we will work together to make sure that we are always solution-focused and moving steadily toward a place of health and wellness. We cannot always choose what happens to us, or how the human body responds to its environment, but we can learn how to reframe, manage, and better process those experiences. Through an eclectic and psychodynamic approach, I can help you gain skills and insights to feel more at peace, in control, and present in your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is really about learning what has been going on for the client and what they hope to get out of therapy. It is a time for them to ask any questions they might have and get a sense of what the therapy might feel like going forward. I want to make sure they feel comfortable with me and my skill set is a match for their desired outcome.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a compassionate, strength-based therapist, I can really help clients identify and understand the patterns underlying their anxiety and depression, and help them build a toolbox of skills to manage the symptoms that they are struggling with. My eclectic background in grief, trauma, severe anxiety, and depression allows me to meet each client where they are at and create a therapeutic experience unique to their needs and desires.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have had continued training and supervision in CBT and use it as a framework to build individual treatment plans and help clients set achievable goals.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

I have been specially trained in ERP to help clients struggling with OCD, panic disorder, and other anxiety issues to help clients manage intrusive thoughts, decrease rumination and mental spiraling, and get back to a more mindful present moment. I will often use this in tandem with other skill building techniques and CBT work.

Grief Therapy

Early in my career I trained with the Den for Grieving kids and worked with families of 9/11 through traumatic grief. Grief work is extremely individual and while I lean on theory and research, I am careful to work with each client to tailor the journey to each individuals needs.

Eclectic

Throughout my career I have participated in intensive training for many different models including DBT, mindfullness based therapy, Gestalt therapy, narrative therapy, and trauma informed care. I have found that these different perspectives allow me to take an eclectic approach to therapy and use different tools and models with clients depending on their needs and motivations. I find an eclectic approach brings the clients the most affective outcomes.
