Hi there, I'm Earnell. as a therapist a statement I love is "You are the expert on you." This is a statement that I love sharing with my clients because I feel it emphasizes that they are the most important part of this relationship. Therapy is an opportunity to grow and explore oneself, and I feel that the relationship between a client and therapist is of the utmost importance. I hold this relationship in high regard and look forward to walking alongside you during this journey. I specialize in trauma counseling and marriage counseling. My goal in therapy is not just symptom reduction, but liberation from suffering. I work primarily with adults. I am available to see individuals and couples. I have received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Somatic Experiencing, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Gottman Couples Counseling. So whether you are dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues, cycles of anxiety and depression, or trauma, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can be scary but I am here to meet with compassion an evidenced back techniques to will help us work together to overcome the obstacles impeding your path of getting to where you want to be. I am excited about us working together.
During our first few sessions clients will feel safe and ease as these sessions are primarily about gaining information about the issues that brought us into therapy as well as gaining trust and strengthening the therapeutic relationship. During these first few sessions we will also develop a plan of treatment to help you meet your goals for therapy. Sessions after this will be at the client's place but will focus on working on and implementing skills to ultimately help the client achieve their goal and reduce whatever symptoms they are experiencing.
In treatment I utilize a myriad of treat modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy, Solution Based, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Gottman Couples Counseling and others. Pulling from these different modalities allows me to customize my sessions to ensure that each client's unique needs are met.
I feel that my biggest strengths are in treating trauma and counseling couples. Within these two areas are a number of other issues such as depression, anxiety, life stressors, substance use and a number of other that can get intertwined in treating trauma and relationship issues. These issues also have to addressed and my strength lies in my ability to effectively address and treat these other issues.
