Do you find yourself feeling disconnected from others or overthinking decisions? Are you finding that you are struggling to find motivation and feel stagnant in the direction that your life is taking you? In my therapeutic work, I have over 7 years of experience working with college-aged students providing support in navigating the emerging adulthood phase of life that college presents as well as several years of experience working with teenage girls with issues such as depression, anxiety, social anxiety, and disordered eating patterns/body image issues. My primary focus/specialties are related to the treatment of depression, anxiety, social anxiety, phase of life issues, women's issues, ADHD, trauma, and issues related to college-aged students. I attended James Madison University and received my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology and attended Old Dominion University and received my Master's in Mental Health Counseling. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2019. I have experience working in private practice settings, college-counseling settings, non-profit community-based settings, and in-home/family therapy settings.

My focus in recent years has been working with college students and teenage girls navigating anxiety, depression, disordered eating patterns, body image issues, relationship issues, as well as phase of life issues. I also explore various creative art interventions such as journaling or art-based activities to further assist in exploring emotions and trauma at a deeper level.
Teenage/adolescent girls, college-aged students, young adults, and those struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and women's issues.
For the last 8 years, I have utilized CBT to treat numerous mental health issues. I have participated and completed several continuing education courses on CBT in addition to being a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Practitioner (CCATP). I utilize various techniques like cognitive restructuring, cognitive self-talk strategies/role playing/rehearsal, and the identification of cognitive distortions that greatly impact thinking patterns.
With my past experiences working in the community and in the school system as a counselor, SFBT is one of the ways to immediately address problematic symptoms and help to build lasting behavior changes through the use of coping skills. I utilize psychoeudcation to explore various coping strategies as well as ways to help my clients build their overall support system to address daily stressors.
I use this treatment method with clients who have avoidance behaviors related to social anxiety, anxiety, phobias, or OCD. Depending on the circumstance, this may look like collaborating with my clients to create an exposure hierarchy that we go through via visualization or through the use of pictures/audio/video graphics as needed to address the avoidance behaviors that greatly impact the heightened and problematic anxiety response that keeps people from living the life they want.
