Welcome, I'm Kia! Life can present you with a million and one ups, downs, flips, and turns. All of this, understandably so, can take a toll on your mental health and relationships. Although we have these challenges, seeking support can be difficult. So, congrats on taking this step! You deserve a safe space to express yourself, heal, and grow to your full potential. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Free Your Mind Therapy LLC. I obtained my Master’s Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Interpersonal Practice, through The University of Tennessee. I started my career working with At-Risk Youth and fell in love with the field. Since then, I have worked with clients of different demographics, backgrounds, and ages. I'm eager to join you on this journey. Let's work together to restore YOU.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can expect to have a laid back first session with me. The purpose of our first session is to learn about each other. I'd love to get a feel for who you are as an individual, what brought you to therapy, and what you're hoping to get out of it. I also encourage clients to ask me questions!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have a background in behavioral and mental health and have helped clients heal through grief, stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, child and adolescent issues, life transitions, and building self-esteem. While I have assisted clients in different backgrounds, demographics, and ages, I particularly specialize in clients that are adolescents, transitional aged adults, and young adults.

As a therapist, I know that one size does not fit all, therefore different modalities and techniques are adjusted based on each client’s needs.
