Hi. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have been practicing therapy for over 8 years. I have worked in various settings as a therapist including school, hospital and private practice. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was an educator for twelve years. I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as Solution Focused Brief Treatment.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session, I will seek some background information about you, your family and previous relationships. The goal is to gather information that may help explain your mindset, beliefs, and actions. You will need paper and pen for the initial session. There is an activity that I like to conduct during the first session. You will have homework after the initial session. The first homework assignment is always the same for everyone. After that, homework is tailored specifically for each client.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is my varied experiences. My experiences help me to be able to relate to people from all backgrounds. I am nonjudgmental of my clients and their choices. My goal is not to change my client based on what I desire but to help them grow closer to their desired goals. I will challenge my clients as we work but only in effort to help them reach their fullest potential.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as my main approach to treatment as it helps clients to refocus their current mindset and refocus on a new one in order to help client manage how they think, feel, and behave.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I find that Solution Focused therapy is a way to help clients move beyond their problems. There are times when it is important to discover the "why" behind our feelings and action but there are times when we need to make decisions to move our lives forward.
