I am a doctoral level Psychiatric Mental health practitioner with almost five years working experience. I have worked at various settings including Psychiatric hospitals, outpatient community mental health clinics, Detox clinics, and Correctional Facilities. I have worked with adolescent patients aged 12 and older. I have treated patients with traumas, psychiatric symptoms of depression, anxiety, affective mood disorder, behavioral problems, and substance use problems using Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) modality at the various clinic where I worked. Irrespective of the population or the age group, my duties are to evaluate, determine the level of risks, implement safety plans, and treat symptoms by way of medication management and the provision of supportive counseling to patients and their families.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My first session with you is more of introduction and information gathering. I often ask the reason for the visit or chief complaint. I will ask about your prior diagnosis and treatment. I will explore your current psychosocial and economic situation as these could greatly impact behavior, mood and trigger emotional distress. At the end, together we will identify the problems, and create individualized treatment plan based on your need and preferences as appropriate. To achieve the individualized goal of treatment, we will work to build up trusts. That is how we find the strength to work together with you, until the goals of your treatment are accomplished.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

If you are looking for someone who will listen to you, then look no further. I will work patiently with you to build a level of trust needed for your mental and physical wellbeing. You deserve the best!

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that integrates CBT and mindfulness practices, such as guided exercises and meditation techniques. Studies have shown that MBCT is as effective as medication in preventing relapse in patients with depression including other symptoms like anxiety. MBCT can complement a patient’s existing treatments. MBCT can benefit individuals who have experienced other mental health difficulties, such as anxiety, panic disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
