LPCC, 20 years of experience
New to Grow
Hello and welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 20 years of experience in the field working primarily in sub-acute settings with varied ages and populations. It has been rewarding and interesting to witness the experiences of people across all ages, many cultures, and to see the evolution of the mental health profession. My journey actually began in art school where I found my art work was all about psychological processes and human development. I studied marital and family therapy in graduate school as part of an art therapy program, writing my thesis on the intersection between art and movement therapy. Through covid, I was honored to facilitate trauma sensitive yoga for veterans for a study with the VA. I continue to be interested and inspired by how we humans navigate our circumstances to optimize our experience of life.
I hope to hear about your current situation, reasons for seeking therapy, and about your background and experiences.
My strengths include an ability to conceptualize broad situations while also distilling down actionable interventions to help empower clients.
I have worked with a diverse array of people in the past and hope that those dealing with most issues are well served my therapeutic and communication style.
Trauma informed care explores how experience, habit, genetics, and larger society help form our psychological and emotional world. I've worked with diverse populations and through my 20 years in the field, and repeatedly witnessed how dysregulation and chronic stress can negatively impact humans. I've worked in crisis intervention, facilitating exploration of concrete skills and assisting clients in developing functional routines. I enjoy exploring how holistic modalities can be integrated into people's lives to facilitate balance and regulate emotions. My hope is to provide acceptance that empowers clients to experience wholeness.
