Welcome, I’m Augustina Nyeche. As your Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care. I diagnose and treat a wide range of mental health conditions and work with individuals across the lifespan to create personalized treatment plans. These may include therapy, medication management, and lifestyle modifications tailored to your unique needs. My goal is to support you in achieving optimal mental health and overall well-being, helping you build a fulfilling and balanced life.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
You can expect a welcoming and supportive environment during your first session. We will begin by discussing your current concerns, mental health history, and overall well-being. I will ask about your symptoms, medical background, and any previous treatments you’ve tried. This initial visit is an opportunity for me to get to know you and understand your unique needs, and for you to ask any questions or share what matters most to you. Together, we will begin creating a personalized treatment plan tailored to your goals. This may include therapy, medication, lifestyle strategies, or a combination of approaches to support your mental wellness.

With over eight years of experience as an advanced practice nurse and more than 16 years of direct patient care, I am well-equipped to support individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and insomnia. I work well with clients who appreciate a compassionate and collaborative approach—those who value having a provider who listens, partners with them in decision-making, and integrates both therapeutic support and medication management when appropriate. My clients often seek a holistic perspective that incorporates lifestyle changes, mindfulness, and evidence-based practices to help them reach their mental health goals. Whether you are managing chronic mental health conditions or navigating acute challenges, I am here to support you on your journey toward healing and well-being.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build psychological flexibility—the ability to stay present, open to experience, and take actions that align with their personal values. Psychological flexibility empowers individuals to adapt to life’s challenges while continuing to pursue a meaningful and fulfilling life. ACT is a powerful therapeutic approach that teaches clients to accept their internal experiences, create distance from unhelpful thoughts, and commit to purposeful, value-driven actions. By strengthening psychological flexibility, ACT supports clients in navigating difficulties with greater resilience and clarity.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support clients experiencing depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, insomnia, and other mental health conditions. CBT focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. This approach combines cognitive and behavioral techniques to help individuals gain insight, develop healthier coping skills, and make meaningful changes in their daily lives. Key CBT strategies I incorporate include: Cognitive Restructuring – challenging and reframing negative thought patterns Behavioral Activation – increasing engagement in positive, goal-directed activities Exposure Therapy – gradually confronting feared situations or memories in a safe, controlled way Skills Training – building tools such as problem-solving, relaxation techniques, and emotional regulation Monitoring & Homework – practicing skills between sessions to reinforce learning and progress Together, these techniques offer a structured, effective framework for improving mental health and overall functioning.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients manage intense emotions, develop healthy coping skills, and build a life worth living. DBT is a comprehensive, evidence-based treatment that blends acceptance and change strategies to support individuals in navigating emotional challenges more effectively. Through its structured framework and emphasis on skill development, DBT empowers clients to enhance emotional regulation, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and create lasting positive change.
