What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our initial session, we'll begin by getting to know each other and setting the stage for our work together. I'll guide our discussion with questions to understand your personal history and the specific goals you aim to accomplish in our therapeutic journey. Making the Most of Our Sessions: Taking the step to seek support is a powerful act of self-care, signaling your commitment to personal growth and fulfillment. In our sessions, you'll find a compassionate ally dedicated to helping you thrive in your career and personal life. I encourage you to jot down a few notes during our sessions. These notes can serve as valuable reminders of the insights and reflections we uncover, helping to anchor those moments of clarity and self-discovery. The Importance of Work Outside Our Sessions: It's important to acknowledge that not all aspects of our therapeutic work can be accomplished within the confines of our sessions. Much like acquiring any new skill or fostering personal growth, some time outside our sessions will be beneficial. I may suggest assessments, techniques, exercises, or reflections that you can work on between sessions. This outside work is a crucial component of the therapeutic process, allowing you to integrate and apply what we discuss in our sessions to your everyday life. Above all, we work at your pace and comfort level. If you have any questions or concerns about our work outside of our sessions, please don't hesitate to bring them up during our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a strengths-based, trauma-informed therapist, I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space through active listening, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. In this supportive environment, you’re encouraged to explore your thoughts and emotions with an ally by your side. I welcome all individuals who identify as she/her from all backgrounds, orientations, religions, and cultures. My practice is a space where everyone is respected and valued. Important Information - a few things to know before scheduling with me: *Specialization: I focus on women’s issues and do not work with individuals under 18, he/him pronouns, couples, or families. *Residency: I am only licensed to work with clients who reside in Pennsylvania. If you work outside PA, you must be physically located in PA at the time of our session. *Late Cancellations/No Shows: You can cancel or reschedule through the portal up to 24 hours prior to your session. If you fail to cancel, reschedule, or do not attend, a $75 fee will be automatically charged to your card on file. Services I Don’t Provide: *Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters: Please seek a therapist who specializes in ESA letters. *Assistance with Disability or FMLA paperwork: It's best to contact your primary care physician. *Child custody or legal advice: Consider contacting a forensic psychologist or the Women's Law Project. *Eating disorder treatment: Please seek a treatment center or therapist specializing in this area. I share this because I believe in providing the most effective and focused care. If any of the above points are part of your needs, I want to ensure you find the right support.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is about learning to think and act in healthier ways to achieve a more balanced life. In session, we will identify alternatives to the unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. Developing practical strategies to challenge and replace negative thought patterns will improve your well-being and coping skills.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of therapy that helps you process and heal from traumatic memories. In session, you will learn specific eye movements to help your brain reprocess distressing memories in a more adaptive way. This can reduce the emotional distress and negative effects of those memories, making them feel less overwhelming and allowing you to move forward with your life more easily.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Trauma-Informed Mindfulness-Based Therapy involves cultivating a heightened awareness of the present moment without judgment. Through practices like meditation and focused breathing, it helps you observe your thoughts and feelings with acceptance. This approach encourages a non-reactive mindset, fostering emotional regulation and a deeper understanding of your mental processes. By integrating mindfulness into therapy, we work towards enhancing self-awareness and developing healthier responses to life's challenges.

Integrative

Integrative psychotherapy focuses on treating you as a whole person, recognizing that mental health is deeply connected to various aspects of your life. Proper nutrition, quality sleep, regular physical activity, and nurturing your soul are crucial for maintaining mental health. Emotional and social connections also play a significant role in how you feel. By addressing these areas, we can create a personalized plan to enhance your overall mental health. This wholistic approach aims to support you in achieving a more balanced and fulfilling life.

Strength-Based

Strength-based treatment focuses on your unique strengths and resources to help you overcome challenges and achieve your goals. Rather than concentrating on problems or weaknesses, we'll identify and build on what you already do well. You can expect a collaborative approach where we explore your talents, skills, and past successes to find solutions and strategies that work for you. This method aims to empower you, boosting your confidence and resilience, and increasing your self-esteem. Overall, it's about harnessing your existing strengths to create positive change and enhance your well-being.
