I have been a broad certifying psychiatric nurse practitioner in practice for the past 12yrs. I specialize in the Psychiatric treatment of adolescents, adults,s and some elderly patients. I provide psych evaluations and medication management with psychotherapy for all mental illnesses. I have an extensive background in hospital care that takes into account any co-occurring medical illness. I am a compassionate provider with a comforting manner for helping patients in their time of need. My favorite thing about my profession is working with the homeless population because that population have its unique challenges with finding housing and getting proper mental health care
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
the client can expect us to build trust, and establish a safe environment with therapeutic communication and rapport with one another. It may take time to get comfortable with one another but I promise to make the process simple and less overwhelming.
The treatment methods and tools I utilize
Psychiatric rating scales are commonly used in both research and clinical practice to facilitate patient evaluations for mental health. Scales are designed to meet various needs, including screening, diagnosis, and treatment monitoring. The decision about which tool to use will vary and should be dictated by the setting the NP practice in, the age of your patient, and the instrument’s intended use.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Some of my biggest strengths include but are not limited to flexibility with my client, being a team player with any treatment team, I am organized with client care, having leadership abilities, creative problem-solving, being an excellent communicator, and curiosity about learning new things.
