Hi! I am a licensed counselor in Florida and Georgia. I have been working as a counselor for 12 years, with a private practice for the past 7 years. I went to the University of North Florida for undergraduate and graduate school. I have worked with many populations including those dealing with substance abuse, depression, trauma, veterans, and active-duty members.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session you can expect me to ask you questions regarding various aspects of yourself and your life, specifically the areas you are having trouble in and would like to address. You will also have a chance to ask me questions. Finally, we will discuss goals for counseling, ideas that we both may have for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am skilled at being an attentive listener which allows me to piece together sometimes seemingly unrelated information the client shares. This leads to a greater ability at getting to core issues and causes as well as a more effective plan for change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have found over my 12 years' experience as a counselor that each of us possesses the ability to change ourselves through the changing of our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is with my aid that I will be able to help you to identify this ability through the use of CBT.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Although research has shown CBT to be quite effective with producing therapeutic change, research shows that the relationship between counselor and client to be most important and I completely agree with this. I create a judgement free environment for all of my clients so that they are able to freely express themselves. This expression alone can serve as a powerful tool for healing.
