Hello! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Virginia. I earned my master's from the Illinois Institute of Technology based in Chicago, Illinois. I have been in practice for 13 years. I serve adults experiencing struggles with navigating transitions, sudden and persistent stress, and the unending cycles of life. I help individuals discover healthy and thriving versions of themselves.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions. As a clinician I will then shift into a space of learning and understanding your story. Careful to examine the specific difficulties you're facing. I welcome the opportunity to collaborate on tailoring a plan to work through structured steps toward wellness and invite the continued flow of becoming through follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As an experienced clinical professional for the past 13 years, I've developed a sound approach to meet clients at their vulnerable point of need. Carefully setting the atmosphere to help clients prepare to (a) identify the cause of their shared challenges and (b) create a structured tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. It has been through gathering and understanding the details of each personal story, that healthy and quality living is obtainable.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I set the tone to create an engaging, warm, and welcoming atmosphere with clients. My approach with clients is to first attentively listen and understand their adopted thought patterns and behaviors. Then working at the client's pace challenge the negative thoughts and beliefs and develop healthy sustainable coping strategies. Following session processing, I offer guided exercises to help refine thinking and behaving practices into lasting positive change.

Humanistic

I welcome the opportunity to hear and validate the client narrative. In the humanistic approach, I offer the support of hearing the client's experiences, said and unsaid emotions, and perspective. The therapeutic environment is cultivated with reflective listening, open-ended questions, and experiential exercises. My approach is to help support self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-fulfillment.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I provide structured sessions of learning the account of unconstructive behaviors. Once understanding the foundation of an experience, I help develop coping strategies to manage the symptoms of traumatic encounters. The coping techniques implemented include mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, and relaxation exercises.
