Hi there, I'm Lauren! I have been working with clients for the last 11 years. I graduated from Florida State University with a master's degree in social work. I always knew I wanted to help people but I wasn't quite sure what that would look like. After spending years of my own life battling anxiety and depression I finally decided to talk to someone. It changed my life and in that moment I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to help people the same way this individual helped me. I know what it feels like to not be able to move, to feel like you are suffocating or to just want the racing thoughts to stop. I also know what it feels like to breathe, take a step forward and slow down the racing thoughts. I'm here to help my client's live the life they deserve to live.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will explore what is important to YOU as the client. We will go through what your struggles are and what strengths you currently have to help you towards accomplishing your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength as a therapist is my ability to listen with an open mind. Therapy is not a one size fits all and sometimes the best thing you can do as a therapist is just pause and listen.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I think it's so important to connect with our entire body to become aware of what we are feeling in the present moment. By using methods such as body Scan meditation it allows my clients to not only decrease their symptoms of anxiety, depression and difficulty focusing but it also allow them to become aware of their bodies physical sensations and reactions prior to these symptoms manifesting.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is one of my favorite therapy methods to use with anxiety and depression. Our brains are really powerful tools and when they are used for the power of good it allows us to live a life in peace. Our thoughts impact our emotions and behaviors. When we learn to change the thought or identify the reason for the thought we can then change the outcome of the behavior and emotion.
