Hey there, I'm thrilled to connect with you! I'm an LPC based in Texas, and I've been on a mission to support clients in their mental health journey since 2020. I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I'm all about helping people navigate those tough patches in life. I specialize in working with people who experienced trauma as a child; people whose anxiety prevents them from experiencing the world & making friends; people who have lost loved ones or are grieving a loss of another kind; people who doubt their own accomplishments and sometimes feel like a fraud; and people who sometimes struggle to get out of bed because they feel overwhelmed or sad.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is all about establishing a connection, getting to know each other, and understanding the challenges you're facing. I want you to feel comfortable and supported every step of the way. Understanding your unique experiences helps me tailor a treatment plan to best meet your needs. We can explore different options and techniques to address your needs. From cognitive-behavioral strategies to mindfulness exercises, there's a range of tools we can pull from. Together, we'll find what works for you and fits seamlessly into your daily life. By the end of our session, I try to leave you with one or two coping techniques that you can start implementing right away.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with a diverse population of clients over the years, I have come to understand that every one is unique and has their own experiences they bring to session. One of the cornerstones of my practice is rooted in the belief that you, as the client, are the ultimate authority on yourself. Who else knows the ins and outs of your experiences, thoughts, and emotions better than you? That's why I make it a point to listen intently, with both ears and heart wide open, as you share your story. This helps us to identify the root cause of your challenges, and aids me in crafting a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is like a toolbox filled with all sorts of helpful gadgets for managing life's ups and downs. It's designed to give clients the skills they need to navigate tough emotions and tricky situations. So, picture it like this: you've got your mindfulness wrench for staying present, your distress tolerance screwdriver for handling tough moments, your interpersonal effectiveness hammer for smoothing out those relationship wrinkles, and your emotion regulation pliers for keeping those feelings in check. It's like DIY for your mental health!

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I love how CBT is all about setting goals and working together to challenge those negative thought patterns. It's like we're detectives, hunting down those unhelpful thoughts and replacing them with ones that serve us better. And the best part is, it's not just about what happens in the therapy room—it's about giving you practical tools to take out into the world and make a real difference in your day-to-day life. That empowerment and collaboration are what make CBT so special.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-centered therapy is like having a trusted ally by your side. It's all about putting you in the driver's seat of your own mental health journey. Instead of telling you what to do, it creates a space where you can freely explore your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. You're the expert on your own life, and this approach honors that. It's amazing to see how clients embrace this process, becoming more self-aware, and finding their own solutions along the way.

Grief Therapy

Grief is like an intricate tapestry woven from the threads of our most profound emotions. It's not just about losing someone dear; it can stem from the end of a cherished relationship, saying goodbye to a beloved pet, or even the closure of a career chapter. We might not always recognize it, but grief can wear many disguises, from the silent ache of disenfranchised grief to the bittersweet anticipation of what's to come. Every person's journey through grief is as unique as a fingerprint. There's no handbook, no map, and definitely no stopwatch dictating when or how we should heal. It's a deeply personal voyage, one where the only compass is our own heart. And that's okay. In fact, it's more than okay—it's part of what makes us beautifully human.

Eclectic

In therapy, I believe in using a mix of approaches tailored to each client's needs. Sometimes it's like blending paint colors to get just the right shade - combining bits of DBT, CBT, mindfulness and person-centered techniques until it fits the client like a glove. Seeing clients light up when they find an approach that really resonates with them is the best part of my job!
