New to Grow
I am a clinical psychologist and performance psychologist. I run men's groups and offer one-to-one sessions. I am also an author. On a personal level, I embrace community, fitness, fun, family, and adventure as part of keeping a healthy nervous system, and my why is to assist others in improving their health and quality of life through caring for themselves and their mental health in new and improved ways.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Connecting and relating to your goals and learning about why now and what led you to schedule the session. A time to answer any questions about myself as a therapist and therapeutic processes or goals.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Experienced, willing to take the risk and intervene on your behalf and stand for your worth, vision and the positive vision you have for your recovery. I have worked on Skid Row, in Max Security Prisons, with elite and high school athletes, so preparing for challenging experiences, learning to manage them, and learning how to adapt and grow through all of life's experiences shows a breadth of openness to where you come from and a willingness to meet clients where they are at. I have clients that have come and returned over 20 years, showing a willingness to set goals and move on, and a trusted alliance that you can return to when and if you need again.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My experience is broad, and I have treated men, women, couples, and athletes over my 17 years in practice. I am best positioned to serve those going through major life changes and transitions and facing overhwhelming emotions and learning how to process all of them while still making the best decisions for their growth and happiness. The best mindeset to work with me is an openness, supportiveness to change and feedback, and a desire to attempt a variety of ways to implement and improve change, as therapy is only a guide and a model for the change that must be implemented for us to see a lasting change we can co-author.
