Hello, my name is Christina Davis, and I am the founder of Living-n-Balance, LLC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Maryland and Colorado, with over four years of licensure and more than a decade of experience across the criminal justice and behavioral health systems. My background includes extensive work in private practice and community-based settings, allowing me to bring a well-rounded, informed perspective to my clinical work.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During this session, we’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll ask questions to better understand your background, current concerns, and strengths, but you are always in control of what you choose to share and at what pace. As part of the initial process, we will complete a biopsychosocial assessment. This involves discussing different areas of your life, including emotional well-being, physical health, relationships, family history, and life experiences. Some of these questions may feel informal and/or intrusive at times; however, this assessment is an important step in gaining a holistic understanding of you and identifying any underlying concerns that may be impacting your well-being. You are always welcome to ask questions, take breaks, or let me know if something feels uncomfortable. We’ll also review important information such as confidentiality, therapy structure, and expectations, so you know what therapy with me looks like. If helpful, we may begin identifying initial goals or areas of focus, but there is no pressure to have everything figured out right away. Most importantly, the first session is about creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. Therapy is a collaborative process, and my goal is to meet you where you are while working together toward balance, clarity, and growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create an empathetic, compassionate, and non-judgmental space where clients feel safe being themselves. I believe meaningful progress happens when people feel truly heard and accepted, and I work intentionally to foster trust, openness, and emotional safety. I approach therapy with curiosity rather than assumptions and do not take things personally. This allows me to remain fully present, objective, and supportive—even when conversations are difficult or emotions run high. My role is to walk alongside you, not to judge, blame, or take sides, but to help you explore experiences with clarity and understanding. I take a holistic, client-centered approach, recognizing that emotional, relational, and environmental factors all play a role in well-being. I tailor my methods to each individual, drawing from evidence-based practices while honoring your unique experiences, strengths, and goals. Clients often describe my style as calm, grounding, and supportive. I focus on helping clients build insight, develop practical coping skills, and feel empowered to navigate challenges with greater confidence and balance—both inside and outside of therapy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with individuals who are seeking meaningful change and are open to exploring their thoughts, emotions, and patterns in a supportive, non-judgmental space. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected—whether from themselves, their relationships, or their goals. I am especially well-positioned to support clients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, burnout, or challenges with self-esteem and identity. I also work well with clients who may feel unsure where to start but know they want things to feel different. My ideal clients value growth, self-awareness, and learning practical tools they can use in everyday life. Some are navigating difficult relationships, parenting stress, work or academic pressure, or the emotional impact of major changes. Others are working toward healing, building resilience, and creating balance in their lives. Whether you come to therapy with a specific goal or simply a desire to feel more grounded and understood, I strive to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you work toward clarity, confidence, and emotional well-being.

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I believe there is no "one size, fits all" approach to counseling. I focus on listening to the individual needs of the client, and drawing on several modalities to assist every individual in reaching their treatment goals. Some modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, Strenght-Based, Person-Centered, Solution-Focused, etc.
