New to Grow
I am a public servant who loves to listen, empower and motivate individuals to live their true and authentic selves in life. I am an experienced clinician with over 20 years of experience working with individuals to work through their childhood trauma, overcome major depression issues or learn how to utilize key tools when dealing with panic or anxiety challenges. I am a wife, a mother, a daughter and a loyal friend who has been described as someone who is approachable. I strive to be as non-judgmental as possible in my interactions with others, thus helping me establish long-term connections with friends. I look forward to collaborating with you on this phase in your journey.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Clients can expect the first session to entail a general introduction of myself, my therapeutic approach and an overview of what to expect in future sessions. I will use this session to gather information on your experiences, history and challenges that have impacted your journey and provide insight helpful in establishing a treatment plan catered to your goals for therapy and success. This session is meant to be very exploratory in nature, with the end goal of setting up a strong therapeutic alliance and strong foundation for future sessions.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I believe my greatest strength as a clinician is my ability to listen, empower and encourage individuals to reach their ultimate potential or goals in life. I generally take a collaborative and holistic approach to therapy; this has allowed me to help clients dig deeper in identifying and courageously working through root causes of issues in a supportive and safe space.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ultimate goal is to help empower, encourage and motivate you to accomplishing your goals in life. In sharing this, I love working with individuals who are willing to commit to digging deeper, working through challenges and allowing themselves to be transparent and authentic in a safe space. Someone who is motivated to putting in the work to see change happen.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have over 20 years of experiencing collaborating and working with others utilizing a cognitive behavioral approach in digging deeper and understanding the impact of their thoughts, emotions and feelings on shaping their behavior and actions in life. I have empowered individuals to unpack and discover healthier ways of reshaping these thinking patterns.
Christian Counseling
I have helped individuals explore their Christian faith and how it impacts their everyday lives. I have worked with individuals for over 20+ years dealing with challenges that impact their faith and how they operate in the world around them.
Narrative
I have helped individuals explore the stories that have shaped their narratives in life in both positive and negative ways. In sharing this I have also taken a collaborative approach in helping the client redefine this negative by empowering the client to redefine unhealthy narratives they have adapted over time.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My ultimate goal in therapy is to create a safe, nonjudgemental space for individuals. I do this by being empathetic and being as authentic as possible with the individuals I work with. This helps create a collaborative, strong rapport with the client where they feel heard and understood.
