I am a licensed clinical social worker with over eight years of experience providing therapy in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and California. My areas of expertise include helping clients identify and challenge negative self-talk, supporting individuals who struggle with self-harm/suicidal thoughts, and addressing interpersonal and communication challenges. I believe in creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Think of our first meeting as a chance to get to know each other and see if we're a good fit. We'll talk about why you're here, what you're hoping to achieve, and I'll share a bit about how I work. Together, we can figure out the best way to move forward.
I'm a big believer in lifelong learning, so I'm always staying up-to-date on the latest research and techniques. I also try to be as open-minded and non-judgmental as possible, creating a safe space for clients to share their experiences. And I'm a pretty straightforward person, so you won't have to guess what I'm thinking. I believe these qualities help me build strong therapeutic relationships and provide effective care.
I am particularly well-suited to work with clients who are persistent negative or intrusive thoughts, difficulties with communication and interpersonal relationships, and/or experiencing chronic self-harm/suicidal thoughts.
Using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), I work with clients to confront negative beliefs about themselves and their environment. I emphasize mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills, helping clients develop coping mechanisms for challenging emotions and situations.
Through Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), I help clients develop healthier interpersonal relationships, improve their communication skills, and enhance their overall well-being. I utilize techniques such as role-playing, communication exercises, and supportive listening to facilitate positive change.
