I am a graduate of Long Island University located in Purchase, NY, where I received my Master's of Science in Mental Health Counseling. I received my post graduate experience in Florida in community health centers, hospitals, substance rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities and private practice. I am an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) in the state of Florida. My approach is based in psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral , person centered , mindfulness and solution focused therapies where I specialize in the areas of anxiety disorders, womens issues mood disorders, elderly issues and care taker issues, and narcissistic abuse as well as having knowledge of sleep issues, stress management, peer relationships, and overall wellness. In addition I can provide limited spiritual guidance and referrals to already certified Shamanic healers while I am training in Shamanic Healing Arts. I greatly look forward to helping you on your journey to reach your goals, find solutions and achieve more balance in your life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session I will gather some history and ask questions. I often combine the intake with starting some therapy depending on time and where the patient is. I usually like to give some tools to help to the next session. The first session is about getting to know each other

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel my strength is making my clients feel comfortable sharing some very private experiences....we can all get depressed, anxious and overwhelmed, yet we can all overcome these feelings and can even use these perceived " weaknesses " to our advantage. It can take some guidance ...which I hope to share with you on your own terms.

My treatment methods

Psychodynamic

Through various settings and diverse patients I developed a relationship with psychodynamic theories. I use different approaches in session based on where someone is or the direction the session is going

Psychoeducation

In my training and personal quest for continued knowledge and understanding I found explaining and relaying whats happening can be beneficial. I often share what I've learned or working on when it's suitable.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Through various settings and diverse patients I found mindfulness could be very useful. I use different approaches in session based on where someone is or the direction the session is going

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Sometimes a priority issue needs a solution and often found collaboration and brainstorming can help find that soulition in therapy. Often this can open up to other areas or, sometimes it's all thats needed.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I learned about this theory in graduate training yet found it helpful in many settings where I gained more experience. Person centered can help in validation of ones experiences.
