I am a LCSW presently only practicing in New York State. As a first generation child; I grew up trying to find my place in a culture outside of my own, while also trying to develop my own personal identity outside of expectations. Today, my goal is to support others thru my private practice by not only being a safe space but also presenting as my authentic self as well. I have a strong passion for working with individuals looking to be their true authentic selves!
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I truly believe that with time, patience, and commitment things can be worked out. I tailor my sessions to each patient and what kind of support/treatment they are hoping for. I always strive to make an open, safe, and judge mental free environment; we can't change anything from the past, but we can make active steps to change your future
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I'm not the most conventional therapist; I like to be honest and open with my clients while also being supportive and empathetic to the concerns they bring. I want all my clients to feel comfortable and safe working with me, so I do my best to make my practice as open and nonjudgmental as possible. Progress is determined by each client; there's no timeline or expectations. There's just the hope of being healthy, happy, and sound!
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My Ideal client is someone who is looking to actively make changes in their lives; or even just begin expressing themselves. I welcome all individuals regards of their needs or goals as my personal objective is to support anyone and everyone accomplish their dreams. They're someone who likes to be a bit out of the box and is open to trying different things to see how we can resolve it together. Being a team player with open communication is key as I am looking to be your ultimate support!
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I've always used using parts of CBT as it helps us reframe the way we view the world. With CBT we look to reframe our thoughts, perspectives, and mindsets in a way that will support our growth and outcomes. While times may be difficult, there are always different ways to approach each scenario.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT is about learning how to distinguish factual evidence from our own cognitive distortions. It gives us a moment to rethink as to whether or not we are running based off proof or our own emotional reasoning. It allows us to look at some gray areas and explore whether our minds are really seeing things objectively.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing has always been fun for me as it allows us to learn how to become our own cheerleader. Through indepth questions, positive reframing, self exploration, and much more, we are able to build our self confidence and self identity to where we can live the lives we have always wanted to.
Psychodynamic
The same things we punish ourselves for are the same traits that were taught to us by the people we love most. Generational trauma has been a long standing issue for families and for the first time people are looking to break the cycle. Psychodynamics play a huge part in not only learning about yourself and your traumas, but also understanding the cycle that your family may be perpetually repeating.
