LMFT, 5 years of experience
New to Grow
Welcome! My name is Astrid and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT). I am located in Southern California. I have my Master's Degree from Azusa Pacific University. I am invested in my client's well-being. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space where you can fully express yourself and embark on the journey toward being a more confident person. I work collaboratively with you to cultivate a nonjudgmental, empathetic environment where you feel seen, heard, and supported. I use a strengths-based approach, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I aim to equip you with the tools and coping skills necessary to thrive through psychoeducation and ongoing support. My approach is straightforward with full transparency. We will focus on setting goals and achieving them so you can be the best version of yourself.
Our first session will be different from other sessions. First session usually consists of getting to know each other. My goal is to make you feel comfortable, safe, heard, and understood. We will go over what you want to get out of therapy. You will be able to discuss your concerns and challenges. Then together, we will work to identify your goals for therapy.
I work with children, teens, and adults navigating life’s challenges. My clinical experience includes addressing depression, grief and loss (including death, the end of relationships, and major life transitions), and trauma. My focus is personalized and will cater to our therapeutic relationship. My goal is to make you feel empowered. Also, I am proudly a part of the first responder family and know the struggles that the job could potentially have on the family and partner relationship.
I am passionate about working with individuals who are struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, history of trauma, self-esteem issues and struggling with life transitions/changes.
As a therapist I use different modalities that fit you. I have used Gestault, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
