I have been practicing Marriage & Family Therapy since 2018. I have a Masters in Marital & Family therapy and a Masters of Divinity. I have worked with at-risk youth, high-conflict divorced families, individuals struggling with grief, trauma, same-sex couples, polyamorous couples, and I have provided Christian-based therapy to those who have requested it. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families in these settings. I am a Prepare-Enrich Facilitator and have completed the Level 1 Clinical Training for Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy Externship. And I am trained in EMDR. Through my studies, I have learned that therapy is a collaborative process. In order for you to achieve your goals, we must work as a team. It's just like the parent-child relationship, or the spousal relationship - in order for change to happen, both parties must put in the effort.
The first session in called the "intake session" which will allow us to get to know each other. It will allow us to set therapeutic goals and brainstorm a treatment plan together. It will also allow me to gain much of the necessary information about you.
My biggest strength is working with childhood sexual trauma. However, I am able to work with any trauma. I also am able to support people who were raised by emotionally unavailable caregivers. I can also work with religious trauma and clergy.
I received trainining in EMDR in 2020 and have been using it in practice to help others desensitize from trauma every since.
I use this approach for those you struggle with insomnia due to poor sleep hygiene.
I use CBT to help others address distorted thinking and change negative behaviors.
I use Christian Counseling for those that seek this support and need to talk through their beliefs.
I work with couples using Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
