New to Grow
With over 25 years of experience as a mental health professional it's my desire to encourage my clients, help them gain insight, and learn techniques that will equip them to improve the rest of their lives. When I get up every morning, one question I ask myself is, "who can I encourage today?" I truly enjoy walking alongside others for the time needed to help them heal and reach their goals.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
If you're new to counseling, you might not know what to expect for your first session. I look forward to meeting you and understanding the current life challenges you'd like to work through. After our initial introduction and summary of current stressors, we'll work together to develop an action plan for achieving the goals you set for counseling. This can include healing from trauma, depression or anxiety, improving your outlook on life, or strengthening your ability to manage difficult situations. My goal with every session is to provide clients with therapeutic techniques they can apply to their unique situation. When we find the tools that work best for you we can work together to practice the process of using these techniques to help you both now and in the future.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Sometimes when we get "stuck" in life it can be difficult to do the deep introspective work it takes to make the progress we'd like in a specific area. Partnering with a counselor allows you to team up with someone who has your best interest in mind. It's been my privilege to walk with hundreds of clients through the counseling process, using the latest research and therapeutic techniques to process life's most difficult situations. Throughout my career I have seen the joy of countless relationships, marriages and families improved, anxiety and depression greatly reduced, and individuals regain a sense of purpose and passion for life. If you're ready to start your counseling journey, I look forward to working with you.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I believe that every individual has personal strengths and talents, and every person has the potential to achieve a greater level of happiness and success in life. There is no instruction manual on how to be a happy and successful person, but there are tools you can learn for building healthy relationships, a successful career, and overcoming trauma, anxiety, and depression. What you believe (about yourself, others, and the world) ultimately drives your behavior and motivates you in life. It's my goal as a therapist to help you shape your belief system in a healthy way that equips you with the techniques you need to live life well.
