Hi there, I'm Alexia. If you’re here, you may be struggling. Struggling with past trauma & can't seem to move forward? Dealing with depression & lack of motivation? Tired of feeling not heard in your relationships? Crippled by anxiety? Perhaps, you’re struggling with a major life transition, your identity, or grieving the loss of a loved one? Are you ready to get help from someone who'll offer you a safe place to work through & overcome the painful, frustrating, or stressful challenges you're currently experiencing? Perhaps you’ve tried other things before- trying to figure it out on your own, talking to friends & family, & maybe it feels that nothing is really helping. I get it & You’re Not Alone! I’m here to offer you support & real-life tools to build a better life. I’m an integrative, trauma-informed, licensed Psychotherapist. I specialize in trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. I utilize a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities and techniques tailored to the specific needs and goals of my clients. I have over a decade of clinical experience working in different capacities that include, inpatient and outpatient clinics, hospitalizations, crisis and alternative intervention programs, and public schools.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together we will start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in our follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Pivotal Psychotherapy Practice is a safe space that's non-judgmental, inclusive, collaborative, and real. In this space, we’ll work together to explore your feelings, your past, your present, and any difficulties/challenges you’re currently experiencing. In this space I hope you feel less alone and more connected, less fearful and more hopeful, less pain and more pleasure. As your therapist, I will listen attentively and empathetically to your story. We’ll work collaboratively to identify what's holding you back and PIVOT you to moving forward.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Attachment Theory explores the ways in which our early relationships shape our emotional and relational patterns. I specialize in helping you understand and heal attachment-related issues, whether you struggle with anxiety in relationships, fear of intimacy, or difficulty trusting others. By addressing these foundational aspects of your emotional life, we can work towards creating secure and fulfilling connections.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a powerful therapeutic model that helps you understand and harmonize the different parts of yourself. By working with IFS, I assist you in identifying and healing the wounded parts of your psyche, fostering internal harmony and self-compassion. This approach can lead to profound personal growth and a deeper sense of inner peace.

Integrative

Integrative therapy is a comprehensive and flexible approach to mental health care that combines techniques and principles from various therapeutic modalities to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to each individual’s unique needs. This approach acknowledges that no single therapy can address all aspects of a person’s mental health issues, and it aims to integrate the most effective elements of different therapies to promote overall well-being.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT0) is a type of psychotherapy that helps clients to identify and change destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on their behavior and emotions.
