Welcome to Grow Therapy! My focus as a mental health therapist is to guide my client through the emotional ebb and flow of life. When one experiences turbulence in life, whether it be depression, anxiety, grief, relationship issues and so much more, I aim to sit with them. Extending my insight and clinical experience to guide them in their transition through the many challenges of life. Using evidence-based practices and intuition, I find that I have an innate ability to cultivate change and improved wellness. My passion for Psychology and Counseling began in 2004 while attending Western Michigan University. I then went on to Graduate School at Oakland University in Rochester Hills, MI. There I graduated Magna Cum Laude, in 2012 with a MA in Counseling.
This appointment is comprehensive with a focus on the clients presenting concerns. I will be sure to address other prevalent history such as family dynamics, past and present health, influential life events and goals for the future.
Strengths as a clinician include my innate ability to connect with others. Within my professional and personal life, I find that people feel safe and naturally can share their most personal life events within the early stages of treatment. I hold this honor of walking with someone in their time of need close to my heart. As I know the significance of deep trust within the therapeutic relationship.
I find that my best client population is the individuals who have a desire for change. They are seeking improved quality of life and are willing to accept that there are alternative ways to think, feel and engage with the world around them!
Cognitive behavioral therapy is often considered to be the gold standard for a variety of mental health diagnosis. This modality focuses on the connections between thoughts, feelings and behaviors. This targets where the client may be feeling stuck and in need of alternative perspectives and guidance.
