Hi there! My name is Gilynett Montanez and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Connecticut. I received my Masters from Fairfield University and have been practicing for 4 years. I help adolescents and young adults struggling with anxiety, OCD, and who have been impacted by trauma so that they can conquer their challenges and become the best versions of themselves.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
The most important element of a first session is to create a collaborative space where you feel heard and understood. In our first session together, we will start with introductions, allowing you to share what you are comfortable with. We will then dive into the specific challenges that you are currently facing. This will allow us to develop a goal for us to work towards in follow-up sessions.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
As a provider, my greatest strength is building rapport and trust with clients. I create a safe and supportive space where they feel comfortable opening up about their struggles, which is imperative to create positive change.
