Thank you for considering my counseling services. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Southern California. My training and experience range from working with adolescents and their families to individual adults coping with various symptoms and life transitions. Coming from a family that immigrated to California and navigated many life transitions and challenges, I developed an interest in the resiliency of the human spirit and the importance of a support system. Having learned from formal and informal processes, I enjoy collaborating with other individuals and empowering other fellow humans toward their healing. The interventions I use are derived and influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solutions Focused, Family Systems and the Pscyh-education references from Existential Philosophy as well as the ongoing and growing body of work being produced by many in the fields of neuroscience and neuropsychology.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I consider the initial sessions with clients as informal interviews and introductions. Clients are encouraged to share what they seek to gain from counseling and ask any questions they may have. I take time to provide feedback and review the risks and benefits of treatment, confidentiality and limits of confidentiality including how I manage urgent and emergent calls. I like to learn about their day-to-day and how they manage their stress as well as about their support systems. After a few sessions, I discuss a general treatment plan including treatment goals, the potential time frame for meeting goals and overall fit. I may also provide referrals to other providers if I feel a client's needs are beyond my scope.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients who seek counseling, tend to be proactive, introspective and appreciative of personal development. I don't consider myself an expert when working with clients. I consider myself a support and a guide in supporting clients reconnect with their thoughts, feelings and behaviors healthily. When working with couples or families, my role is to facilitate healthy, productive and supportive dialogue so that all clients can identify and work toward problem-solving. I only accept couples and families in person and not through telehealth.
