Therapy is a journey. I applaud you for taking this step toward enhanced well-being in your life. As is true of any journey, having a roadmap provides clarity, direction and a destination, and we'll develop this roadmap together. I provide a non-judgmental, confidential and safe environment in which you and I will work as partners to identify and overcome obstacles and barriers in your life. My approach is eclectic, but I utilize cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI) and solution-focused therapies to help you reach your goals. I have been a licensed clinical social worker for 19 years, and I have helped many people over that time.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we'll start a conversation in which I begin to learn about what has brought you to therapy, and what you believe would be a successful outcome. We will talk about your aspirations. I bring curiosity, compassion and respect to our collaboration. By the end of the first session, you'll have a better sense of how we can move forward, and whether we believe we are a good match.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with a diverse group of clients presenting with a wide variety of concerns over the past 19 years. I bring experience, compassion, focus and a non-judgmental stance, and treat every client with the respect they deserve. I will support you as we explore areas that can be difficult, and also those that can be joyful.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT for many years to help clients experiencing anxiety, depression, loss and grief, strained relationships, aging, and life transitions. CBT provides a collaborative structure to identify your concerns, address and overcome barriers, and develop a concrete plan for achieving your goals and aspirations.

Motivational Interviewing

I have used MI for many years, and it is particularly helpful for clients who underestimate or don't recognize their capabilities and competencies. MI is a tool that allows us to identify, encourage and harness the strengths that exist within you.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Some clients experience very specific issues and challenges that create distress, but do not get in the way of their ability to function well in most other areas of their lives. Solution-focused brief treatment can help us focus on these specific issues and challenges efficiently and effectively.
