I am a clinical psychologist specializing in PTSD/trauma, depression, anxiety, and OCD using EMDR, CPT, CBT, ERP, prolonged exposure, and other evidence-based treatments. As an Asian-American child of immigrants, I take special care to thoroughly explore ways in which your childhood, upbringing, family of origin, and culture contribute to your mental health. Each individual is unique, so your therapy journey also has to be tailored to you. Whether you are struggling with lifelong mental health difficulties or don't even know where to start, I will work with you as a guide and collaborator to help you get to where you want to be.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and understanding what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask some questions about your current concerns, history, and goals, while also explaining how therapy works and what you can expect. You’re welcome to share at your own pace—there’s no rush. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, respected, and ready to begin the work ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have 15 years of experience in hospital systems, inpatient units, community clinics, cancer centers, unhoused facilities, and an advanced fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medical School. My expertise is in assessments and structured treatments for trauma, OCD, and depression, and anxiety. While individual therapy style is anchored in CBT and other evidence-based treatments , I take a holistic, whole-person approach to fully address your specific concerns. I respect your identity, culture, and background and make sure that key considerations like your upbringing, beliefs, religion, sexuality, and acculturation are incorporated into treatment to the extent you feel necessary.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Aside from my clinical specialties (trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD) and training as a clinical psychologist, we may be a good fit if the following resonates with who you are and/or what you're looking for in therapy: - You want to understand, at a deeper level, the root causes of your current mental health functioning, such as childhood, cultural impact, and prior experiences in general. - You're ready and eager for change, whether that is a change in mindset, behaviors, career, or anything to get you out of feeling stuck. - You're looking for someone compassionate but at the same time will challenge you. - You feel confused about what's going on and want to understand yourself, your symptoms, and what can be done. You may have heard of a diagnosis but want to know more and whether it's something you're experiencing. - You have concrete goals for therapy and is ready to make them happen.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

I approach therapy with a deep understanding of how trauma impacts the brain, body, and sense of self. Sessions create a compassionate and collaborative space where healing happens at your pace. My goal is to help you feel supported and empowered on your treatment journey.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Using CBT, I help you identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, providing practical tools to manage anxiety, depression, and stress more effectively in daily life.

EMDR

EMDR is a structured, evidence-based therapy that helps process traumatic memories so they no longer feel overwhelming. Together, we’ll work gently through past experiences to reduce emotional distress and build resilience.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive Processing Therapy is an evidence-based modality to treat PTSD and trauma through writing, processing, and cognitive restructuring.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

ERP is a highly effective approach for treating OCD and anxiety disorders, where we gradually face fears in a safe, supportive environment while learning to break the cycle of compulsions or avoidance.
