Hi! My name is Paola. I am a licensed mental health counselor and have been working in the mental health field at various capacities since 2012. I received my master's degree from Florida Atlantic University and I have been working with clients in private practice since 2021. I help adults struggling with alcoholism/addiction, anxiety, and mood disorders with evidenced-based techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapy.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
During our first session, I will encourage you to ask any questions you may have about me or the therapy process in general. It serves as an opportunity to get to know eachother and once you are comfortable I will ask you to share what urged you to seek therapy. I like to ask client's what they feel is most important for me to know about them to be able to help and understand them in the best way possible.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My greatest strengths as a mental health counselor include my natural abilities to see each of my clients as unique beings struggling to overcome possibly the most difficult experience of their life. I have wanted to be a therapist since I was a teenager and I have never once doubted that this career was meant for me. My dedication to helping people navigate life's challenges is what makes me good at what I do. I believe in therapy at it's core as a tool to help clients achieve wellness.
