I am a counselor with more than 7 years of experience working with individuals that struggles with substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, trauma, anger issues, PTSD and self-esteem issues. Life tends to get difficult at times, however it is important to have a person that you can talk to about those issues without being judged or misunderstood. I am here to support you in a friendly and at times humoristic manner, and safe. Approaches that I use in session include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness base therapy. These approaches help the patient to understand their way of thinking, intrusive thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and allow them to being a changing thought patterns and creating a positive behavioral change. I graduated as a Master of Education/Mental Health Counseling and have and undergraduate degree in Social Worker. I have experiences working in a variety of counseling settings including outpatient services, inpatient, partial hospitalizations, and others.
In our first session, it will be a mutual introduction. From there, I would like to explore the needs that the individual has, reasons for seeking counseling to be able to develop a plan that will help the individual meet his/her needs in short and/or long term. I use a friendly approach to the individual feels comfortable with itself and this writer.

I have been using CBT since I became in the profession of counseling because helps clients to understand their thought process, their feelings, and behaviors. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a treatment approach that helps to recognize negative or unhelpful thought and behavior patterns.
I enjoy using the Psychoeducational treatment approach to educate clients about their mental health issues and different ways to cope with those issues. I consider that the education is a important part of the treatment.
I like to use Motivational interviewing approach in counseling because I believe in positive changes. I use Motivational interviewing to helps people resolve ambivalent feelings and insecurities and find the internal motivation they need to change their behavior, when those behaviors seem difficult to change.
