Hi I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia ! I have been practicing as a therapist for 17 years working with a wide range of human struggles. I believe the power to change and grow is within us and human beings are never broken or "bad"... we are simply hurting and this can manifest in behaviors that protect us from feeling the weight of the pain we are in. I believe the therapeutic space is sacred and deeply meaningful. I can't wait to be part of your healing journey.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will begin with a brief introduction. I will ask question to gain a better understanding of who you are and what led you to reaching out and how I might be able to help you. We will decide on your goals for our work together and you will decide if you feel im a good fit for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am deeply authentic and take a canid, open approach to the work with clients. I avoid pathologizing human pain and just meet people where they are.

My treatment methods

Existential

Many clients come to see me to because they feel stuck...I often hear "what's the point? why am I here? what's my purpose? " My approach in therapy is to create the conditions where clients can be deeply seen, understood and reflect on how they want to show up in their life. We explore feelings of loneliness, interpersonal detachment and how to deepen the connections with ourselves and others.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have extensive training and experience working with fortune 10 Executives, Attorneys, Lobbyist, Physicians, Nurses, NP/APRN, PA’s, Pilots, individuals with security clearances, even professional athletes have been referred to me for therapy. I specialize in providing confidential, safe and effective Individual and Group counseling services to impaired and recovering professionals. I worked with a physician who was unable to moderate his drinking and was feeling increasing shame and guilt around being a "healer" valuing health and also a person who was engaging in "unhealthy". behaviors His anxiety and depression was related to his behavior that was outside of his core values. We worked on value alignment and he was able to moderate his drinking and eventually decided to stop because it was interfering with his new hobby of running. This is the essence of ACT Therapy...getting into alignment with our values without judgment or self criticism.
