Hi, I'm Aaron. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) working out of the state of Texas. I've been in the behavioral health field for about 12 years helping people of all ages overcome mental health struggles and issues with both substance use and process addictions. I frequently utilize mindfulness and compassion in my work and like to incorporate breathing techniques and music whenever possible. I'm also a huge proponent of yoga and Brazilian jiu jitsu as healing arts and have been involved in both for years.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will get to know one another and establish an atmosphere of collaboration and non-judgement. We will discuss what it is you are wanting to accomplish in therapy so that I can create a treatment plan that addresses your unique goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with people of every age and helped my clients to challenge a myriad of issues that they wanted to change. I help clients to feel calm and able to open up rather quickly. I always strive to bring patience, compassion, and unconditional positive regard to everyone, regardless of what brings clients to therapy.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness allows us to connect with the present moment and reset our nervous systems during times of stress. When we're anxious and worried about the future, we can drop ourselves back into the here-and-now and connect with a sense of peace.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The view we take of ourselves and the world around us shapes who we become. Sometimes this view is distorted by unhelpful thoughts and beliefs which we have the power to challenge and change through CBT.

Compassion Focused

In my opinion, loving yourself is the most important thing that you can do to lead a fulfilling life. Most of us can extend tremendous compassion to others that we do not reserve for ourselves, but we can learn to change that.

Trauma Informed Care

Traumatic events can devastate a person and can create unexpected and unwanted challenges in life. I believe that a person can learn to overcome these challenges with support that prioritizes their safety and autonomy.
