Hi my name is Betsy and I have been working as a therapist for 6 years now. I am a licensed clinical social worker and I obtained my master of social work degree from Fordham University. I enjoy helping others and have worked with various clients of all different ages and backgrounds. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and schizophrenia.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll begin to build rapport and then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with clients for over 6 years now, I've developed a tried-and-true playbook for helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. I am compassionate and want to help all my clients meet their goals. I feel I am easy to talk to and provide a safe non-judgmental environment.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Talk therapy that helps people understand how thoughts affect emotions and behaviors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Structured therapy that focuses on teaching four core skills (mindfulness, acceptance & distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness) to help you create a good life for yourself. You work on those skills through a series of lessons and then start applying them to your life.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) addresses the mental health needs of children, adolescents, and families suffering from the destructive effects of early trauma.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma-informed treatment integrates an awareness of trauma into every aspect of treatment while making safety a priority for clients.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

SFBT is future-focused, goal-directed, and focuses on solutions, rather than on the problems that brought clients to seek therapy.
