Hello! My name is Susie, mother, LMFT, MA. As a mother and a therapist, I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals and families in all stages of life. I believe that the work we do within the walls of our home ripple out in our communities and can have positive impacts on everyone around us. As a therapist and a parent, I understand how deeply important it is to find empathetic, nonjudgmental support in your most vulnerable moments. When faced with life's greatest challenges, you and your family deserve compassionate support from someone who understands.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My process is simple and quickly gets to the heart of your struggles. I will meet you with gentle curiosity about the world that shaped you and the stories you have carried throughout your life. From there, I will teach you skills to decrease worry, sadness, insecurity and anger so you may be successful well beyond the therapy room. Uncovering untouched parts of ourselves can be painful and will take time and willingness to walk through. There is no rule for how slowly or quickly our work is done and I will be with you every step of the way. My role is to coauthor this experience as you step into your own transformation and create the life you've been seeking. Your healing begins here.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Wherever you are willing to go, I am willing to go with you. Successful therapy work is a challenge for everyone. Having someone in your corner to witness your journey is one of the most powerful gifts you can give yourself. I love seeing my clients succeed and know you will love seeing yourself succeed too.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Susie has advanced training and dialectical behavioral therapy skills. Susie has used this extensively in her work with teens and families in residential treatment as well as in her work with parents learning to regulate with her children. Susie loves the practice of DBT because it gives her clients tangible tools to use an every day life to help them feel empowered and capable of taking control of their life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution focus therapy is great to encourage stepping away from the problem narrative and moving into the solution. Susie uses solution focused therapy to call upon her clients’ strengths, even in their darkest of moments and help them to see progress where they may not be able to find it. Susie uses SFT throughout her work and finds that it allows her to teach clients how to find strengths in themselves well beyond the therapy room.

Trauma Informed Care

The average person will experience three traumas in their lifetime. But the result of those traumas do not need to be long lasting. Whether years ago or yesterday, trauma erodes happiness and leaves you feeling as though you can never trust or feel safe again. But there is hope. Susie uses various techniques to support the reconfiguration of thoughts, beliefs and the nervous systems. Through the healing nature of the therapeutic relationship, you will begin to regain a sense of belonging and feel whole again.
