About me

My name is Ms. Dee, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I’ve been described as supportive, compassionate, and approachable. My therapeutic approach focuses on identifying your strengths and helping you build on them to overcome life’s challenges. I strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can be open and honest as we work through difficult experiences together. I have experience working with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting challenges, adolescent concerns, life transitions, and anger management. I have also had the privilege of supporting Military members, Veterans, and their families. Seeking help is a courageous first step—and a vital one—and I’m here to support you in your journey.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first therapy session serves to establish a strong therapeutic foundation, build rapport, and outline the path forward. Key components typically include: Introduction and Rapport Building An open, welcoming conversation to begin developing a trusting therapeutic relationship. Informed Consent and Orientation A review of confidentiality, its limits, and the overall structure and expectations of therapy. Assessment and Information Gathering The therapist will explore the client’s background, current concerns, relevant life history, and previous therapy experiences. Focus will be placed on the client’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviors related to their presenting issues. Goal Setting and Expectations Together, the therapist and client will identify therapy goals—ranging from short-term objectives to broader long-term outcomes—to guide the process. Scheduling Future Sessions A regular session schedule will be established based on the client’s needs and availability. This initial session is a collaborative starting point designed to support a safe, effective, and personalized therapeutic experience.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in my ability to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard and respected. I approach each individual with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and compassion, allowing for authentic connection and trust. Clinically, I am skilled in applying evidence-based practices—particularly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)—to help clients gain insight, develop practical coping strategies, and achieve meaningful progress. I also take a strengths-based, collaborative approach, helping clients recognize their inner resources and build resilience. Above all, I remain committed to each client’s unique journey, adapting my approach to meet their evolving needs and empowering them toward lasting growth and healing.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I welcome clients seeking a holistic approach to healing—one that fosters growth through the development of effective coping strategies, meaningful behavioral change, and authentic self-discovery. Together, we will create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you are encouraged to explore, grow, and overcome challenges. I believe in treating every client with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Clients who may benefit most include those experiencing excessive worry, panic attacks, social anxiety, depression, anger, or high stress levels. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients manage anxiety, reframe negative thought patterns, improve emotional regulation, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. While CBT is an evidence-based and effective approach, therapy is a deeply personal process. Its success depends on a strong, collaborative relationship between client and therapist, and I tailor each treatment plan to meet your unique needs.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a therapist, I have found Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to be a highly effective, evidence-based approach for addressing a wide range of mental health challenges. CBT is a structured, goal-oriented modality that emphasizes the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. In my practice, I work collaboratively with clients to identify negative thought patterns and cognitive distortions. Together, we challenge and reframe these thoughts to foster a more balanced and realistic outlook. This process enhances self-awareness and equips clients to respond to situations more adaptively. CBT is particularly effective in treating anxiety, depression, and stress-related conditions. By teaching practical coping strategies—such as relaxation techniques, problem-solving skills, and behavioral interventions—clients gain tools to manage symptoms and improve overall well-being. Its structured, time-limited format supports focused progress, and the skills learned often have a lasting impact. While CBT is a valuable therapeutic approach, it may not be appropriate for all individuals or circumstances. I therefore integrate other modalities as needed to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs.

I appreciate how you help me realize some of my justifications, and don't take my answers as being complicated.
